When you get a new phone, it can be really exciting: new technologies, new abilities, new compatibilities, new apps and new ways of doing things! Getting a new phone is like having a completely new toy to explore and discover, and yet with all of the same familiarity that makes it easy to use your new phone during your daily life.
However, there are plenty of disadvantages when it comes to treating yourself to a new phone, and that is mainly because there are so many things in our phones that we completely depend on – and they are often very difficult to transfer from one phone to another. When you are moving from one type of operating system (like Android) to a different kind of operating system (like Apple iOS), then that process becomes even more complicated, because they do not even talk to each other! Viber messages are often the worst, because people depend on them for contacting their friends and family, and they don’t want to lose all of those funny jokes and intimate messages – and yet you can’t just transfer them over.
That doesn’t mean that it is impossible to transfer your old Viber chat history from Android to your iPhone, of course: you just need to know how to do it, which is why we have put together this little guide to make your life that much easier. It just takes one computer program and four simple steps, and before you know it, your Viber messages will be moved from your old Android phone to your new iPhone. All you have to do is to download a third-party utility and follow these simple instructions:
Step 1: Run the program and connect iPhone and Android to your computer
First of all, you will need to install the computer program Android Viber to iPhone Transfer onto your computer, and then run it to make sure that it will talk to your computer correctly. Then you should connect both your old Android phone and your new iPhone to your computer with their USB cables.
Step 2: Backup your Android Viber messages
Next, you should see a message appear on the screen of your old Android phone, and you should choose ‘Back up my data’ – just make sure that you do not put your password into your phone. You will then need to click on ‘OK’ on your computer screen.
This will make your computer read all of the Viber messages on your Android phone, and you should be able to see them all on the main computer window that is open.
Step 3a: Transfer all Viber Messages from Android to iPhone
Now click on your old Android in the Devices list on your computer, and then click on ‘Transfer Messages from Android to iPhone’ on the top toolbar. If you cannot see it, then you can click ‘File’ and then ‘Transfer Messages from Android to iPhone’, or right click on your old Android device and then click on ‘Transfer Messages from Android to iPhone’.
Step 3b: Transfer all the Viber chats from a particular contact
The next step is to click on the contact name that you want to transfer the Viber messages. When you have done this, you should click on ‘Transfer Messages from Android to iPhone’. If it isn’t there, then click on ‘File’, then ‘Transfer Messages from Android to iPhone’ – or you can right click on the contact name, and then choose ‘Transfer Messages with this Contact to iPhone’.
Step 4: Select the target iPhone
Lastly, you need to click on the new iPhone that you are sending the Viber messages to, which you should be able to see in the window – then click on ‘Continue’. Your Viber messages will then start to transfer from your old Android phone to your new iPhone.
If You Have Only One SIM for Both Your Android and iPhone
Some people will only have one SIM card, which is the same number, for both their old Android phone and their new iPhone. If this is you, then all you need to do is:
Step 1: Put the SIM card into your Android phone and make sure Viber is active on your Android device with the verified mobile number.
Step 2: Backup all of your Viber messages to the local database of this software. To do this right click on your Android device and select “Backup Messages” option.
Step 3: Now you can insert the SIM card to your new iPhone. Also, Install Viber onto your new iPhone, and verify your phone number.
Step 4: In the end, connect your iPhone to your computer via USB cable while the program is still running on your computer, go to “Local Databases” section right click on the database and restore messages that you backed to your iPhone.
